RMZ-30 Double Sworder
(Stag Beetle type)
Manufacturer: Tomy
Line: Original Japanese Release
Origin of Release: Japan
Year of Release: Unknown
Crew Number: 2
Motor or Posable?: Wind up
Review
I was never keen on Double Sworder in the anime, but as a model kit, I gotta say I like it. Particularly the pilot positioning. It's unusual for a Zoid to have that kind of seating arrangement.
Like most Zoids of that size Double Sworder runs on a wind up motor, but the positioning of the actual wind up key is underneath rather than out to the side. I like this kind of positioning for it. It looks neater.
When wound, Double Sworder walks forward, opening and closing his pincers. Regrettably I've not been able to witness this movement myself as the motor on mine is currently non-functional.
Manually the guns can be re-positioned, and the back casing can be opened up revealing transparent orange wings that can be folded out.
I've got to admit though, I do prefer the more lively colours of the NJR, but the OJR wins for its retro feel.
May be hard to find, but not a space hog.
