Motor or Posable?: 1 AA Battery motor
Review
The Shield Liger was unintentionally my very first Zoid. I'd been holding out for a Blade Liger or Geno Saurer for my first, but I saw this guy and fell in love.
I was first introduced to it through the anime Chaotic Century, it being the main character's Zoid for the first half of the series.
I found Shield Liger to be a very good first Zoid. It's build isn't too difficult and it has some nice actions to play with.
It runs on a battery powered motor (1 AA) and as it walks it opens and closes its mouth. It does have a rather awkward lurch when it walks though, more often than not leading it to walk in a circle rather than a straight line.
As far as non mechanical actions go, it has a dorsal gun that's folded away and hidden when not in use and a pair of missile arms on its sides that open out. In addition to these, it also has some non-weapon features, for instance, flaps on its head that open out to imitate when the shield is activated, and a tail that can be raised or lowered.
Shield Liger remains one of my favourites to this day
