Zoidzilla
(Tyrannosaurus type)
Manufacturer: Tomy
Line: Zoids2
Origin of Release: UK
Year of Release: Unknown
Crew Number: 1
Motor or Posable?: 2 C Battery motor, plus 2 AA batteries for lights
Related Zoids:
Gojulas Mariner, Gojulas the Ogre
Review
This version of Gojulas is probably not one of the best chrome jobs ever to hit the Zoids2 line. In fact it's pretty much badly applied metallic paintwork as oppose to chrome.
But that's not to say Zoidzilla isn't worth getting. The poor paintwork is only really noticeable is you look closely at it, and with the swirly red and black stickers applied, Zoidzilla makes a really striking display piece.
With the batteries in, Zoidzilla is capable of walking forward, moving his arms up and down, turning his head and opening and closing his mouth, and his hands are manually posable.
There are also lights situated in the eyes, which connect to a separate battery pack, allowing the lights to be switched on whether the Zoid is walking or not. Be warned though, they do start flashing after about 5 seconds. This can make photographing that feature interesting.
Unlike the original Gojulas and Zoidzilla, Zoids2 Zoidzilla sports the additional pegs needed for attaching the Supercannons from the Republic customise set.
While I would've loved Z2 Zoidzilla to have been properly chromed like the others, I can honestly say that I love this guy as he is too.
He's getting harder to find now and may demand the higher end of his value to get hold of, but he's worth it.
Watch out for the tail however, particularly if you've acquired yours prebuilt, as the tail attachment is weak for the weight it supports..
