I got lucky and managed to pick up a NER Geno Saurer quite cheap to fix my badly sun damaged one My original Geno was bought back in my early days of Zoiding (During my first year) so as well as the sun damage to the purple parts, his stickers were also poorly applied without being trimmed. With this guy I was able to rectify this and bring him back to better than his former glory. Sadly I forgot to take a better photo of Geno before I started taking him apart, so all I've got is this photo from the review taken on a poorer quality camera, so the improvement might be a bit hard to see but trust me, it's a heck of a lot better than before.
New additions to my bootleg collection: Helcat and Godos. Not sure who made these guys but I only paid about £6.30 for them and they are pretty cool to have
I got my D-Style Blade Liger in the mail no more than 2 days after receiving the dispatch notification from Ami Ami. From Japan to the UK, that's pretty damn good! Yeah, the box is a bit dented, which really is no surprise when you see the box it arrived in: Seriously, I'd have hated to have seen what this would've looked like had it not had "Fragile" written on the box! Still, the Zoid itself is fine and since I'm not keeping the box anyway it's no big problem. I decided against painting since I don't think I could have the patience for detailing like this, but he still looks cute.
Got my Gojulas HT in the post this morning ^^ I was a bit worried since the seller told me he had been built and taken apart again, but he said the plastic quality was good. Still hearing about yellowing I was worried about getting a Gojulas that had been on display and yellowed before being sold on, but upon opening I discovered the plastic was pretty good. Seems the last owner before the seller had opened it, taken every single piece off the frames, started to build the body, then put it all back in the box and sold it on. The caps were still on the sprues and the pilot and canopy were still in their sealed bag.
Not that I'm complaining of course ;) Finally I have managed to get my mitts on one of these! An MIB Shield Liger Commander SP! I've been itching to get one of these for ages now. Never thought I ever would but opportunity knocked and I eagerly answered. He looks absolutely gorgeous when built. Sadly the camera doesn't show off the pearl red very well but trust me, in real life he's a very pretty Liger.
Belated birthday gift from Deathy. She bought it for me on the condition that I paint it pink. As a member of the Pink Menace how can I decline that? XD
I managed to snag this sweet lot cheap a few days ago After a fun day sorting out the parts I was able to get together 6 Zoids (And a few unzoidy parts to boot) This one was missing only its tail pilot (Or at least it would be if I hadn't nabbed its triple missile pod for OJR Sabre Tiger) It had a snapped leg peg and also suffered from the traditional broken tail ring, but both were fixed easily enough by glue. This guy was also pretty complete, although the one missing part (The rudder I believe) but sadly the piece actually snapped off in the hole, so it's going to need a whole new tail. The tip of the right wing is also snapped so the wing tip won't stay in properly. However balance it right, put it on display and don't touch it again and you wouldn't know the difference XD Spiderzoid was complete aside from a few caps and his head guns and Protozoid was missing his ears. I took the remaining caps from Protozoid for Spiderzoid (Since this is my second Protozoid, but my first Spiderzoid so priority for completion goes to him) This is the guy I'd been itching to put together since him saw it in the lot. He's missing his entire left arm, hand and the square-ended gun that goes on it and he suffers from the standard snapped tail peg which I glued back on and touch wood seems to be holding for the time being, but his lights are still working and I still love him to bits. He was also missing his motor, but he had his battery cover and thankfully I had a spare Z2 Zoidzilla one from a lot I bought months ago so it was just a case of switching the covers over and he's right as rain. Hopefully I can get him complete. Krark seems to be the worst off out of all the kits in the lot. He's missing his motor and the chest part and one of the guns that sits on the motor as well as some caps and is missing half of one section of his left wing, but thankfully even without the motor he seems to be able to hold himself together not too badly. He's just a bit gutless. I've taken to calling him Krark Prince of Cowardice. He's my second Krark but I've grown fond of him. If no-one takes him or his parts I might just give him a new lease of life as a custom Sabre wasn't actually part of the lot (I should be so lucky!) But he did benefit from it with a donor missile pod from Red Horn so he's now complete.
Not photographed was an unused Krark sticker sheet, to which my completed Krark says "I'll take that thank you!" ... HMMs
Yeah. I know I've mentioned before that I'm going to cut down on HMMs, but trying to just cut down isn't really working, what with Koto releasing so many designs that I like. Thus I've decided that the only way to solve my dilemma is to stop getting them completely. We're all aware how expensive Zoids are nowadays, particularly HMMs, and I'm sure most of us know how bad I am at getting round to building the buggers. This means me and Electric are getting a mound of large HMM boxes taking up space in our bedroom, which I have tripped on more than once. So henceforth I shall get only the HMMs I've pre-ordered already (I feel terribly guilty about pre-ordering them then changing my mind and having the poor guys wondering why I don't want them any more) which'll be Pteras Bomber Jamie custom, Liger Zero Schneider (CAS only) and hopefully, if I can get the funds together, Geno Breaker Raven (Haven't pre-ordered yet. Waiting to see if it'll be possible) After that I shall be nixing all other HMMs, other than Helcat should Koto see fit to release it. This does not mean I'm giving up Zoids completely. What I save not getting the HMMs I'm planning to put towards finishing Tsume and getting some of the old school kits I missed out on. There, now I have it in writing! As of today-minus WIP customs-my current Zoid collection amasses to:
235 Official Zoids 7 Unofficial Zoids 16 Finished Customs In total my Zoid collection comprises of 258 Zoids collected since August 2003 After an issue with Parcel Force's function to pay custom charges online, Goldie has finally arrived! He's so shiney! o.o
